The activities were designed for elementary and middle school students. However, they are readily adaptable for all ages (including adults). Each lesson provides in-depth background information such as dragonfly life history, anatomy, dragonflies vs. damselflies, identification, and behavior. Each lesson has one or more reproducible handout sheets, and gives step-by-step instructions for student activities.
The Minnesota Dragonfly Society was instrumental in the creation of this guide. Its members dispensed valuable advice and guidance to the author and provided most of the amazing dragonfly photography. A portion of the profits from the sales of this guide will be donated back to the Society.

About the Author – Ami Thompson has been a naturalist for 15 years working as a Wisconsin and Minnesota state naturalist and as a National Park Ranger. She started her own environmental education business in 2008.
