THE PRIONIDS OF THE WORLD, Volume I
Illustrated catalogue of the Beetles
by Ivo Jeni
2008, 128 pages, 100 color photo plates illustrating 100 species. The first volume in this exciting series includes a worldwide overview of the classification of this incredible group of longhorn beetles. It reflects many recent changes in the phylogeny of the Cerambycidae due to DNA analyses. Included are examples from 30 tribes in the subfamily Prioninae, as well as the closely related Anoplodermatidae, Parandrinae, and Oxypeltidae families. One or more representative species of each tribe is illustrated by spectacular, large photos, referencing sex, size, genus, species and locality.
The book features an attractive cover with gold lettering and beetle image; English text. Published in the Czech Republic. Hardcover; 6-1/2 x 9-1/4″.
The second volume in the series is 3736, Prionid beetles of the Neotropical region, published in 2010.
