Portable and practical miniherbarium for field identification of plants. Use of mini plant presses for reference collections saves wear and tear on larger, standard herbarium sheets in large herbaria. This economical system is useful to professionals, teachers and students in many fields including entomology, ecology and forestry.
The small amount of plant material needed for specimens results in conservation of wildflowers and plants, and the press is small enough to be carried in a pocket or purse.
Press consists of two pieces of hardboard, a dozen each 3 x 5″ (76 x 127 mm) cards & driers, and wide elastic bands. The mini press was designed at the Southwestern Research Station, American Museum, and a reprint of the article from the American Biology Teacher describing its use is included with order.
