Cone-shaped net is made of 10 mesh, 153 micron nylon cloth, which permits water to pass through but is fine enough to filter out organisms. Minute plankton are collected and can be observed in the removable, clear conical tube (50 ml.) at the end of the net. Two 50 ml. graduated tubes are provided. A sturdy stainless steel ring and harness keep the mouth of the net open while it is being pulled through the water. It has a 5″ (12.7cm) diameter mouth, and is 15″ (38cm) long.
For customers who wish to construct their own plankton nets or use plankton screen for sampling and collecting small aquatic organisms, measuring particulate matter, and filtering procedures, Nitex® screen is available in five mesh sizes; see #7290B.
