Diptera/Hymenoptera Cone Trap
This versatile trap can be used to collect specimens for study or as food for captive animals. It can also be used for population control. Insects are attracted to bait (supplied by the user) placed underneath the traps cone. The insects then naturally fly upward into the cone and are trapped.
The hole at the top of the cone can easily be cut bigger to allow larger specimens to enter the trap. The inverted cone trap catches insects in a green polyethylene mesh cylinder that is 7-1/2 (19 cm) in diameter and 7-3/4 (20 cm) high. When assembled, the trap is 10-1/2 (27 cm) high.
