PVA mounting medium containing Elvanol and a lacto-phenol solution is a one-step clearing and semi-permanent medium used in preparation of ringed microscope slides. It is recommended for small arthropods (soft or hard bodied), insect larvae, mosquito genitalia, mites and spiders. It is frequently used as a substitute for Hoyer’s solution. Slides need to be heat cured for permanency. Without stain.
Please be aware that some chemicals used in the formulation of this product might react with the rubber stopper used in the dropping pipette, when provided. A polyseal cap has been provided to extended storage.
PVA Mounting medium should be stored in a cool and dark area when not in use. Removal of the stopper top and replacement with a polyseal cap is recommended for storage as the material will degrade the rubber dropper over time. Shelf life is not known.
*Please note: This chemical is considered hazardous or flammable by the U.S. Dept. of Transportation. It can be shipped only by surface UPS, FedEx, or Parcel Post, and only to destinations within the U.S.
